FOREVERANDEVERNOMORE is the 22nd solo studio album from legendary producer, composer, and musician Brian Eno and the first since his 2017's Reflection. The album was recorded and produced by him at his studio in West London and sees Eno singing on most of the tracks. Available in a variety of formats, including vinyl, CD, and of greatest interest to high resolution and immersive listeners is the exclusive limited-edition Blu-ray that features both an Atmos and 48kHz / 24-bit stereo mix as part of the SDE Surround Series. Also, the Dolby Atmos spatial audio mix will be available via streaming platforms.
The Roxy Music and ambient music legend has created a sonically beguiling, ultimately optimistic exploration of the narrowing, precarious future of humanity and our planet. As Eno himself concludes, "Briefly, we need to fall in love again, but this time with Nature, with Civilization and with our hopes for the future."
Brian goes on to say, “These aren’t propaganda songs to tell you what to believe and how to act. Instead, they’re my own exploration of my own feelings. The hope is that they will invite you, the listener, to share those experiences and explorations. It took me a long time to embrace the idea that we artists are actually ‘feelings-merchants.’ Feelings are subjective. Science avoids them because they’re hard to quantify and compare. But ‘feelings’ are the beginnings of thoughts, and the long-term attendants of them too. Feelings are the whole body reacting, often before the conscious brain has got into gear, and often with a wide lens that encompasses more than the brain is consciously aware of.”
The Atmos mix was created by Eno himself, and as one would expect he pushed the boundaries with this spatial audio version. He has approached the mix in an extremely unorthodox fashion, removing the concept of a ‘front’ in the mix stage, making it a fully immersive experience. Enormous attention was paid to the position of each element and how they supported the music as a whole. Naturally there are differences between the stereo mix other than the spatial reimagining, due to the creative process that involved certain elements and their subtle sonic interpretations.
Scheduled for released on October 14, 2022.
